Does Real Clean Need to Smell?

Some you may have noticed that I have a Shaklee menu option on my blog and I have yet to talk about it so I wanted to share some thoughts on Green Living.

I had been thinking of using more Organic/Non-Toxic cleaners for our home when one Sat. I cleaned the bathrooms in the house with Lysol (Yes – I should actually clean it daily since the boys are always in there and let’s just say they are not the best aimers).   Anyway all day long  the bathrooms had that STRONG bleach smell and I was thinking….  Is is better for them to get germs or their hands or have this toxic bleach on them……

So I did a little Internet perusing and looked for ways to remove toxic chemicals from your home and found the Shaklee company. I then remembered that Oprah did a cleaning series on her Earth Day special where she discusses Shakelee.  You know if the big O tries it I am going to try it!! Just saying!

So some of the cool things I learned about Shaklee:

1) Non-toxic

2) Super-concentrated (One bottle of Basic H2 equals the cleaning uses of 5,824 bottles of 26oz. Windex) no that isn’t a typo!

3) Made from biodegradable surfactants

4) Contain no phosphates or other harmful chemicals

5) Natural

6) You can use it on thousands of household jobs- it removes, dirt, grease, and grime from any washable surface, inside and out: wall, windows, and mirrors, counter tops, floors, appliances, stoves, sealed wood, and furniture.

I also discovered that the Shaklee company not only sells safe and effective cleaning products but safe and effective, nutrition, weight management, and beauty products. All free from harmful chemicals – they had me at safe.
Shaklee is also committed to helping the environment. Did you know that they were the first company in the world to be declared climate neutral? This means that they operate with a net 0 impact on the earth. Can’t beat that as far as I am concerned!

If you are interested in trying out any of these great products, stop by my Shaklee website and take a look around!  I have not tried all the products but the ones I have I 100% love and the cool thing is they have a money back guarntee.

Celebrity List

I  have no idea why but I was thinking on the drive to work today about the “official celebrity list”. You know that fun list that couples make of celebrities they get a free pass to “spend quality time with”  if the opportunity presents itself.  Big Steve and I don’t have a list but I saw this picture on Pinterest and decided if we did George Clooney would be on it!!

I am pretty sure George is thinking right now .. man I am dying to hook up with a middle-aged overweight mom who is covered in stretch marks and likes to overly talk about her kids and potty training…..

GEORGE here I am  – LOOK ME UP!!!

For the rest of us – let us take a moment to appreciate (drool) at this picture.

The Foot Saga continues…..

After about of month of having the foot surgery I am sad to report that it hasn’t changed. No better no worse just the same…BOOOOOO.

I had an appointment with my Dr. on Friday to discuss the process and he said that it was still early so there is a chance that it might still feel better but basically I am the only person that he has done the surgery for where it didn’t work! This is the one time in my life that I do want to be like everyone else.

So the next step is to wait a few months to do a nerve study to see if I have pinched nerves in my foot. I had an MRI before on it but apparently this is different. The one thing I know for sure is that it will be more $$$.

Good times! I am still hoping to wake up just one day and be able to get out of bed and not dread taking that first step in the morning but until I think my new strategy will be to take a shot of tequilla first thing what a fun day at work that would be…..

Angry Birds Obsession!

This past weekend we had a family party for BC’s 3rd birthday and it was the best party we had for him yet.

He is a bit obsessed with angry birds so I called my friend Karmen who makes amazing cakes and owns a cafe called The Blue Duck Cafe and Bakery. She is so talented and the exciting part is that we both worked together at our first job out of college in audit and she left the ever so exciting accounting world to own a bakery and cafe.

Here are the cupcakes she whipped up for the party.

He LOVED them.

I was also excited because this was the first year that he didn’t cry when we sang Happy Birthday!!! When I told him we were singing he came and sat in his chair with his ears covered. See how scared he looks – Awwwww.
Singing Scard

So we decided to sing a little softer this year and he took his hands down and sang along! I guess the 20 of us are pretty bad singers, huh?

See here is is singing and trying to decide which one he wants and yes Tammy I had to make a silly face for this picture-habit.

We even took it a step further and got a few Angry Bird Balloons!!  Note: My phone where he is playing angry birds.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my little man.

The sweetest thing

Another year older, another year wiser, another year better looking…….if it only worked that way for women.

I am very lucky to still have my grandma around and I wanted to share with you the sweet card that she sends me every year on my birthday.

I have to tell you the back story of what she writes in the card:

  • She always called me her little dolly because she said when I was little I looked like a doll with the dark hair, light skin, & blue eyes.
  • I was very very shy and would get soo upset when I would get in trouble or my parents yelled at me soooo I called my grandma sobbing on the phone that mom is mad at me. She would basically talk me into giving myself a hug from her until I felt all better.

I just love that she sends me a card every year basically reminding me of the hugs and she hasn’t missed a year in the last 30+ years. The older we both get the more it means……. Just another little thing

Back on the sauce

Yep I am back on the sauce BIG time. Drinking 2 sodas a day and since November so I have to do another round of the complete soda cut-off  because for some reason commiting to a specific time frame to you guys makes me stop. I know that I should be thinking of more of a complete lifestyle change but for some reason if I  commit to a smaller time frame and then I can do it. Weird – I know.

I did find this on Pinterest which is one of many articles on the web about how terrible soda is for your body. I know it. We all know it but yet some of us still continue to drink it.

So I am commiting to give up soda (again) until April 15th.

Girls Poker Night!!!

Good time had by all!!

Some of my favorite gals came up to my house this past Sat. and we  had a good ole fashion slumber party except with cocktails of course.

We talked, laughed, ate, laughed, played cards, laughed, and had a blast.

After being cooped up for the month of Jan with my foot surgery and the kiddos being sick it was so great to just relax with my ladies that I have known forever…that get me….. that always have my back, and we can have unfiltered ridiculous conversation!!

Thank you guys for the great weekend. I have been randomly giggling thinking about things said and the suggestion to play old school quarters with stemware!!

One thing for sure we are definitely older because our old butts couldn’t sleep in and still got up at 7:00am!! Curse you Tammy…Love you.
