The evolution of my New Year Resolutions:
Week 1: I am pumped ready to go and work hard!
Week 2: Somewhat motivated – get busy and do what I can.
Week 3: Kinda Trying – still talking about it.
Week 4: I forgot Forgotten. Swear to start again on Monday and then ……
Week 52: Feel Guilty then try to remember what my NY Resolutions were and then probably make the same ones for the next year.
Sound familiar to anyone?? This is why for the last few years I didn’t really make any or at least I don’t remember making any.
I thought to break this continuous cycle I should set more short-term monthly goals that get me headed toward the big goal. So I am setting some here and holding myself accountable – game on.
Mendi’s 2012 Resolutions:
-
Eat less + exercise more = weight loss. Ya – we all know what to do but actually doing it is an entirely different story. I was a workout buff before kids and now with the foot issues I have basically not done anything and it is depressing and I feel and look like crap. 2012 I am going to focus on what I can do and stop dwelling on what I can do.
-
Be a better blogger. I do find blogging fun but we all know that I am not much of a writer. So first need to brush up on the ole writing skills and what I really like to do is fully develop the site and learn more about Word press and maximizing the tools and resources available. I think I know enough to be dangerous but I want to be better. Plus I like all the IT based stuff.
-
Take better pictures. I really enjoy photography but have a lot to learn. I haven’t even scratched the surface and let’s face it my pictures show it. Have a SLR camera is more than just shooting in “AUTO” so I would really like to get better.
-
GET ORGANIZED and DECLUTTER. I am basically yelling at myself to get in gear. AHHHHHHH.
-
DIY House Projects. We have so many things that I want to do with the house that I don’t even know where to start and it seems that we are swimming in a sea of started but not finished projects so I am going to set monthly goals for the home and try to hold Big Steve to it. Wish me luck on this one- he is worse than me.

Relax and appreciate the Small Steps. Our house stresses me out. We have been in it over a year and I still feel like we just moved in. I don’t have all the rooms painted, nothing hanging on the walls, and so much left to do! I do feel edgy or frustrated when I don’t get anything done on the house but after a long day at work and hanging with the kids it is usually 9:30 – 10 before I can get around to anything. I see these great projects on the web and I want to get started on them right now this very minute but…… This year I am going to take little steps and do what I can when I can and just roll with it.
This is what I have so I am going to go with it because I could write all day. This is a counseling session -jeez.
Do you guys make resolutions and it so hit me I want to hear them.
